TriFREAK Coaching by DC Suiter is triathlon coaching and training for athletes of all ages and abilities, specializing in the beginner triathlete.

We offer personalized coaching to triathletes, duathletes and swimmers.  Our training programs are designed specifically to meet your needs and goals, and our programs are not template based or computer-generated.

We also teach triathlon classes at the Lynnwood Pool year-round.  Learn how to design a program with your individual heart rates or learn how to navigate through the transition area.  There are lots of classes to choose from and they range in skill level from beginner to advanced.

Coach Cherilyn Suiter has been coaching triathletes since 1994, and has herself been a triathlete since 1987.  She has a background in swimming and running and has competed and placed on the World level in Duathlon, holds a NJ top-10 in Masters swimming, has over 30 age group wins and 10 overall wins in triathlon alone.

Cherilyn has committed much of her time to volunteer coaching and speaking on topics such as transitions, coaching and training plans.  She has coached individuals, teams and has volunteered with the Special Olympics as a triathlon coach.

TriFREAK Coaching Programs

E-mail / Phone Coaching

A six-week program includes training in each discipline using your unique heart rates to take the guess work out of over- or under-training.  You will simply test your heart rates every 6 weeks to keep your program accurate.  Our programs are designed specifically to fit your individual schedule and your individual needs.  Our programs are not template-based or computer-generated.  Each program is designed by “hand” and checked carefully for accuracy.  For about $11 a week, you can have a custom program created.  We use a 4-week periodization cycle and go through each of the macro-cycles for an overall annual training program.  The cost of this program:  $49 one-time set up fee, $65 per 6-week program.  The programs are also available for beginners and others not wishing to utilize the heart rate portion for $45 per 6-week program.

Swim Coaching

Swim coaching consists of a 1-hour pool session with coach Cherilyn Suiter.  Your stroke will be videotaped first and then analyzed both in and out of the pool.  The videotape will be mailed to your home after dubbing.  The coaching you will receive will allow you to learn about what it will take to improve your individual stroke on your own, without having to take weekly lessons.  A follow-up lesson is recommended within two months, but certainly not required.  You will learn drills specific to your stroke needs and be able to incorporate them into your training.  Swim sessions will usually take place at the Lynnwood or Mountlake Terrace Pools, unless you make other arrangements for a different location.  The cost is $45 plus you will need to bring a videotape (VCR) and a self-addressed stamped envelope for your videotape.  You are also responsible for any pool fees.  Swim sessions are $35 if you are a coaching client on the 6-week training program.
